Research Centre "Energy and Environment" at the University of Technology
The Research Centre "Energy & Environment" makes across faculty competences available for research partners and clients and contributes to the implementation of sustainability.
Oil reserves are becoming scarce, energy is getting expensive, the environment is suffering. The newly founded Research Centre "Energy & Environment" (established at the end of 2008 to advance the interdisciplinary research priority at the Vienna University of Technology) will demonstrate practical energy systems of the future, technologies and specific actions against climate change as well as ways out for the energy hunger of people.
The existing and wide variety of technology and scientific competences of the experts at the Vienna University of Technology will be combined in a new way and expanded with a systematic width of an interdisciplinary project orientation to give answers to social issues and complex research areas in the field of energy and environment.
Thus, the Vienna University of Technology is able to provide integrated solutions across faculties in order to set new standards in research and teaching regarding actual local and global problems and to forward research and development of alternative technologies.
The perspective ranges from resources to environmental influences and sustainability to end-user efficiency and recycling.
That makes the Vienna University of Technology a competent partner for all energy and environmental related demands of the future.
