The registrar's office manages the admission and registration of all students (including foreigners). All certificates and transcripts are issued in the registrar's office, except diplomas of graduation which are issued at the dean's office of the competent faculty. Leaving certificates of Vienna University of Technology could also be issued by registrar's office in case the student requires one.

Though there is a department for foreign students and applicants at Austrian Union of Students (each university in Austria has a local office), a great number of general inquiries regarding the study-system or admission requirements has to be answered by registrar's office.

Another job is to assist in applications for recognition of previous or parallel studies. Almost all form-sheets regarding academic matters at Vienna University of Technology are available and issued by this office. Another duty is to administrate all courses and curricula offered at VUT as well as the coordination and reservation of all auditoria.
