7th EU Research Framework Programme (FP7)
The 7th EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7) is the EU’s main instrument for funding research in Europe. It is the world‘s largest research funding programme with a total budget of € 53,2 billion.
It will last from 2007-2013 and is designed to respond to Europe’s employment needs and competitiveness. It is the aim to make or keep the EU as a world leader in selected research areas.
FP7 is made up of four specific programmes (COOPERATION, IDEAS, PEOPLE, CAPACITIES) plus a fifth specific programme on nuclear research (EURATOM).
