Lions Sponsorship 2017 awarded to Mr. Daniel Schachinger

Within the scope of a closer collaboration in the area of energy and environment, the Lions Club Wien St. Stephan supports young academics and gives away this year for the third time a sponsorship for PhD students of the Technische Universität Wien.
The support covers necessary expenses within doctoral thesis focussing on energy and environment – in particular for study trips abroad, for the participation at scientific congresses, for scientific publications, etc.

The „Lions Sponsorsip 2017“ was awarded to Mr. Daniel Schachinger, Institute of Sensor and Actuator Systems, for his work „Energy Management Optimization based on a Semantic Abstraction Layer “.

Ms. Therese Schwarzböck from the Institute of Water Quality, Resources and Waste Management, received a special price for her work on „Determination of biogenic and fossil organic matter in heterogeneous wastes and plastic-containing mixtures – potentials & limitations“.

A presentation of the works and the award ceremony took place within the scope of the Vienna young Scientist Symposium on Fr, 2nd of June 2017.
