What does Co-Registration mean?

Students who make use of another University's teaching while remaining fully enrolled at only one university are called co-registered students (Mitbeleger). Some degree programmes at the University of Vienna, at TU Wien and at the University of Economics (WU) are 'inter-universitary courses'. Students of these degree programmes also have to register as co-registered students at the beginning of every semester.

Students of TU Wien can co-register at other universities, too. The procedures are similar but not identical. Please find information at the respective university you want to co-register at and mind the admission periods.

Please note: co-registration

  1. has to be renewed every semester within the admission periode
  2. is possible only between Austrian Universities!

How to co-register at the TU Wien?

First time co-registration

For a co-registration at TU Wien you need the current student record (Studienblatt) of your main university. Therefore you have to pay the tuition fee and/or the students' union fee at your university at first.

After taking the online pre-registration, you need your student record and your student ID to finish the co-registration at the admission office in person.

Please note! Co-Registration is possible only within the admission periode!

How to continue a co-registration?

The co-registration has to be renewed every semester. After having paid the tuition fee and receiving the student record (Studienblatt) of your main university, you have to notify the Admission Office of TU Wien of the continuation as co-registered student.

To coninue your co-registration you have to complete the co-registration within the admission periode by yourself at "Student Self Service". Afterwards your student's documents can be issued.
